What we collect

When you send an enquiry

When you fill in the enquiry form, we collect what you enter: your name and phone number and, if you choose to give them, your email address, area or locality, the service you’re interested in, your message and how you’d like us to contact you. We also record which page of the website the form was sent from.

When you call, WhatsApp or email us

If you contact us directly, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp name and number, or your email address, along with anything you choose to tell us or send us, such as photos of your windows.

When you browse the website

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which record details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the website running and secure.

If you allow analytics (see “Cookies and analytics” below), Google Analytics collects information about how you use the website, such as the pages you visit, your approximate location and the type of device you use.

We don’t ask for — and please don’t send us through the website — sensitive information such as bank or card details, health information or government ID numbers.

Why we use it

We use your personal data to:

  • reply to your enquiry and arrange a site visit;
  • measure, advise on and prepare a quote for the work;
  • carry out, deliver and service work you ask us to do;
  • keep records of our work and meet our legal and tax obligations;
  • understand how the website is used and improve it, if you allow analytics.

We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Our basis for using it

When you send us an enquiry or contact us, you give us your details voluntarily for a specific purpose — so that we can respond to you — and we use them for that purpose. We use Google Analytics only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Where we must keep records to comply with the law, we keep them on that basis.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the website and respond to you, and only as much as they need:

  • Web3Forms, which delivers enquiry form submissions to our email inbox;
  • Google, which provides our email, Google Analytics (only if you allow it) and Google Maps (only if you choose to load the map on our contact page);
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you message us on WhatsApp;
  • our website hosting provider, which stores and serves the website.

Some of these providers may process data outside India. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example to a court or government authority.

Cookies and analytics

The website itself doesn’t need cookies to work.

  • Google Analytics is switched off by default. It only loads if you choose “Allow” when asked. To change your choice, clear this website’s data in your browser settings and we’ll ask again.
  • Google Maps only loads — and only then may set Google’s cookies — if you press “Show map” on the contact page.
  • Links to WhatsApp and Google Maps open those services, which have their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond to you and, if you go ahead with work, for the length of the project and any after-sales service. We keep some records for longer where the law requires it, for example for tax purposes. When we no longer need personal data, we delete it.

How we protect it

We take reasonable security measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. These include serving this website over a secure (HTTPS) connection and limiting who can see enquiry details. No way of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive information through the website.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • access information about the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct, complete or update your personal data;
  • ask us to erase personal data that we no longer need to keep;
  • withdraw consent you have given, such as for analytics — this doesn’t affect anything done before you withdrew it;
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so;
  • have your grievances addressed by us.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on your request.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at aksharam.aluminium@gmail.com or +91 84888 90170, and we’ll do our best to resolve it. If you aren’t satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This website is meant for adults planning building or renovation work. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we’ll delete them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add new features to the website. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
